摘要:
For a complete description of
two-phase flows on solid surfaces, it is necessary to understand
the dynamic processes occurring in the immediate vicinity of the
moving contact line, i.e., the intersection of the fluid-fluid
interface with the solid wall. Molecular dynamics (MD)
simulations have been playing a very important role in the
exploration of the dynamics of moving contact line, especially at
the microscopic scale. In first part of this talk I will
introduce the MD methodology briefly and share an overview of MD
studies on two-phase flows. In the second part, I will show
our molecular dynamics simulations of stick-slip motion of moving
contact line at chemically patterned surfaces. Our MD results
reproduce the macroscopic fluid dynamics predicted by the continuum
modeling and calculations in previous work[Wang et al, J. Fluid
Mech., 605, 59 (2008)].
