Title : Mathematical modeling of wave propagation in metamaterials
Abstract: Since 2000, there has been a growing interest in the study of metamaterial due to its interesting applications such as design of invisible cloak and sub-wavelength imaging. In this talk, I'll first give a brief overview on metamaterials, and present some interesting applications of metamaterials conducted by engineers and physicists. Then I'll talk about the modeling equations for metamaterial simulation, followed by some algorithms we developed recently. Finally, some interesting numerical results and open issues will be presented.
